Explanation of terminology

It is important to be aware of a difference in the terminology used on the USC and ATMC websites:

  1. Where ATMC uses “course”, USC uses “program”. These two different terms refer to the degree in which a student’s enrols, e.g. Bachelor of Business, Master of Professional Accounting.
  2. Where ATMC uses “unit”, USC uses “course”. These two different terms refer to the individual subjects in which a student enrols, e.g. Business 102, Introduction to Economics

This difference in terminology has to do with the fact that different Australian universities use different student system software.
